A new international literary festival LETERAPOPULI starts in Plovdiv in a few days
From October 3 to 10, 2024, Plovdiv will host the first edition of the world literature festival Leterapopuli . This event aims to develop in the cultural calendar of the city a literary forum with large-scale and prestigious international participation, for this and in its future editions it plans to meet Plovdiv residents and guests of the city with remarkable contemporary writers from all over the world.
The first guests of this year's autumn edition of the festival will be José Manuel Fajardo (Portugal/Spain), laureate of prestigious literary awards and organizer of international Cervantes writers' meetings around the world; Rachel Martínez Gómez (Spain), laureate of the European Union Prize for Literature and the French writer, director and composer Issac-Isabelle Klein.
The festival's director is Dr. Dostena Laverne and it takes place with the assistance of the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and the Municipality of Plovdiv, and its main organizer is the Bulgarian Institute of Art Management.
The official opening of the festival will take place on October 4 from 18:30 at the Regional Ethnographic Museum - Plovdiv , with official guests from the country and abroad. Members of the International Committee of Letterapopuli, composed of important writers from around the world, will also be involved with video addresses. The event will end with an author's concert by the French composer and playwright Issac.
Entrance is free.
Audiences will be admitted until the space is filled to capacity.
