Four little girls sit on a hill overlooking the Laurelton Oaks estate, dreaming of getting married there. Four young women at their high school prom, without dates but with a bottle of whiskey, swear they will find true love and be bridesmaids for each other, no matter what life throws at them. Thirty years later, they continue to keep that promise. Whether it’s the second or third wedding of one of them, whether they have to travel from different places, no matter the seasons, commitments, or personal failures…
"Bridesmaids Forever", by the successful writing trio Jones, Hope, Utley, has been called by critics a “happy play.” Perhaps because, despite all the trials and tribulations of the characters, it’s ultimately about friendship. It’s about how far you’re willing to go to keep a promise to a friend. The answer comes from these four determined and indecisive, sensitive, vulnerable, brave, and loyal women. Their story will touch anyone who has ever been moved by the modern classic "Four Weddings and a Funeral."
Together with the wonderful actresses, we have tried to turn this "happy play" into an elegant, funny theatrical piece.
