Plovdiv’s favorite “Cinema Under the Stars” returns to the city of the hills on June 18 for its fifth edition!
The screenings will once again take place in open-air park spaces across the city – Youth Hill, Raycho Kirkov Park (in the Kyuchuk Paris district), Kamenitsa Park, Rotary Park, Lauta Park, Ruzha Park, Proslav Park, Ribnitsa Park, and Kamenitsa Park.
Audiences will enjoy 15 exciting, free film screenings, and the summer outdoor cinema fiesta will kick off on June 18 at Youth Hill with the Bulgarian box office hit "Gundi – A Love Legend". The film is dedicated to the legendary and beloved footballer of the past, Georgi Asparuhov – Gundi. The story follows the life of the great athlete – from his first meeting with Velichka Markova – Lita, to the tragic day of June 30, 1971. At the heart of the screenplay are untold personal stories from Georgi Asparuhov’s life and his great love – his wife Lita. Together, they endure the trials of life, football, and the system, but remain united until the very end. Some of Gundi’s most legendary matches will come to life on the big screen, brought vividly to audiences through hundreds of special effects used in the film.
