For the 29th time, Plovdiv will host the International Folklore Festival – one of the most beautiful and anticipated cultural events, cherished by a devoted audience of all ages and filled with vibrant emotions and joyful spirit. Every year, the Folklore Festival becomes a true celebration for the public during the hot summer days. Folk dance ensembles from around the world take part, presenting a dazzling spectacle of color and rhythm with great talent, charm, and enthusiasm. The festival traditionally takes place at one of Plovdiv’s most iconic venues – the Ancient Theatre. This year, audiences will enjoy performances by folk ensembles from Armenia, Italy, Paraguay, Slovakia, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine. The host of the 2025 edition will be Ensemble “Sedenchitsa” from the “Folklore World – Sedenchitsa” Association, Plovdiv, with Neli Karabakhchieva as Artistic Director.
From July 28 to August 1, each evening will begin with parades of the dance troupes starting at 5:30 p.m. from "Dom Levski", passing through the Main Street, and arriving at the open stage at Stefan Stambolov Square, where short concerts will begin at 6 p.m.
The program continues with the main evening performances of the participating ensembles on the stage of the Ancient Theatre, starting at 8 p.m.

July 28, Monday
Official opening ceremony of the 29th International Folklore Festival with the participation of ensembles from Armenia, Italy, Paraguay, Ukraine, Slovakia, Ensemble "Trakia" and Ensemble "Sedentchitsa".

July 29, Tuesday
Concert featuring the ensembles from Armenia, Italy, Paraguay, Ukraine, and Slovakia.

July 30, Wednesday
Concert featuring the ensembles from Armenia, Paraguay, Slovakia, and Ensemble "Sedentchitsa".

July 31, Thursday, 7 p.m.
Boris Hristov House of Culture

Concert featuring the ensembles from Ukraine, Italy, Slovakia, and Armenia.

August 1, Friday
Gala concert and official closing ceremony of the 29th International Folklore Festival with the participation of ensembles from Armenia, Italy, Paraguay, Ukraine, Slovakia, the Academic Folklore Ensemble at Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts, and Ensemble "Sedentchitsa".

The International Folklore Festival is organized by the Municipality of Plovdiv and is part of the Cultural Calendar for 2025.
