The Man from Plovdiv, Concert

On the Day of the National Awakeners, the audience will have the opportunity to experience the music of the great Bulgarian musician, composer, and arranger Milcho Leviev in a way different from what his fans may be familiar with. The concert will feature classical works performed by leading figures in the field: Prof. Ludmil Angelov, Pavel Zlatarov, Nikolay Zhelyazkov, the Philharmonica String Quartet, and the Sofia Soloists Chamber Ensemble with guest conductor Konstantin Dobroykov. The program includes a Sonata for Violin and Piano, works for string quartet, Variations on a Theme by Corelli for piano and string orchestra, and the special highlight — the first-ever performance of Milcho Leviev’s unfinished orchestration of his “Tocatina” for piano, completed by Konstantin Dobroykov and Antoni Donchev.
