“The Iron Candlestick” is a stage adaptation of the iconic novel by The Iron Candlestick by Dimitar Talev. The performance focuses on the story of a mother who struggles with all her strength for the well-being of her children. The clash between traditional values and the new world, between love and honor, shapes a compelling narrative about humanity and family.
Director Kalin Angelov’s stage interpretation centers on the tragic fate of Kateryna and carefully examines the actions of everyone connected to her. What drives us to harm those closest to us? How can love lead us to a tragic end?
