James Wylie & Yako Trio
Three young artists who turn their studies into prestigious jazz schools around the world into an exciting musical journey, return to their home town of Thessaloniki with luggage full of a variety of sounds, experiences and knowledge to engage in an energetic, candid and impressive conversation with a new for them an audience marked by the rich multicultural heritage of the Balkans.

After a number of concerts on the European jazz scene, the artists from Yako Trio are a welcome guest at most well-known and prestigious jazz forums on the old continent.
On March 5, the Yako Trio opens the 11th edition of the PLOVDIV CHAMBER STAGE with its special guest from New Zealand - saxophonist and composer James Wiley
A multi-instrumentalist and composer, James Wylie was born in Wellington, New Zealand, with his interests initially focused on classical music.
As a youngster, he has won prestigious awards from the Aotea Performing Arts Trust, the Woolf Fisher Trust.
He completed his master's degree in music at the New England Conservatory in Boston, and over the years worked and recorded with names such as Anthony Coleman, Jerry Bergonzi, Alan Chase.
