First live audience exhibition in the City Art Exhibition on May 14, 2020

After a two-month delay due to the strict quarantine measures, the long-awaited retrospective exhibition of the artist Emil Mirazchiev will finally meet with a live audience from May 14 (Thursday) in the Exhibition Hall "2019" at 32 Gladstone Street.

One of the most recognizable Bulgarian visual artists Emil Mirazchiev takes the audience on a virtual Author's tour in his retrospective exhibition "THE WAY. We continue together. " His exposition is arranged in two levels in the Exhibition Hall "2019" and is set to open on March 17th. But because of the pandemic with COVID-19, the City Art Gallery had to close its doors indefinitely.

But art overcomes barriers more successfully than viruses and finds a way to reach its audience. As long as the audience needs it.

The author himself reveals details about the creation of each of his works, the performed artistic actions and interventions in the public space in the virtual tour, shot by Vladislav Sevov.

The project of Emil Mirazchiev is supported by the Municipality of Plovdiv.

In the exhibition, the artist introduced the audience to various techniques and technologies in the development of art over the last 60 years, starting from experiments in classical graphic techniques (lithography, etching), going through hand-cast paper, collage and fur coats, photography, video, objects, installations. He submurges us in a process where things follow the mastered professionalism of traditional and brand new techniques and technologies. They found a place initiated by him in public social, political, cultural, media spaces with the participation of the public, creators, politicians, media activists. Various social, cultural and political issues, such as the banking system, the right to creative expression, democratic development, citizens' rights, the environment and political interventions, are addressed.

This is an exhibition for the development and it shows a WAY - a process of exploring the aesthetic, artistic and social impact of the work of Emil Mirazchiev, one of the active authors in the field of contemporary art.

The exhibition is of high artistic value, demonstrating various means of expression and media in the field of contemporary art. Projects like this are of great importance to young audiences and students. This enables them to get acquainted with the expressive means of contemporary art on a wide spectrum. The project itself is under development and continues as long as the author's activity allows the different stages to be realized.

The exposition is being staged at Exhibit Hall "2019", Gladstone Street, 32, and is awaiting its official opening when the restrictive measures against COVID - 19 are lifted.
