"Young Blue Earth" Youth Creativity Festival

"Young Blue Earth" Youth Creativity Festival is traditionally held on April 22 (Earth Day), but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the dates have had to be changed. The celebration will be held in three days from 09.10 to 11.10.2020 in the museum building and in the park "Dondukova Garden".

On the first day of the festival 09.10 (Friday) will be the competition program, which includes an exhibition of drawings in the category of Fine Arts "Water is life", an exhibition of photographs in the category Photography, vocal and instrumental performances in the category Music and presentation of innovative projects related to Earth sciences, in the Young Inventor category. The program will be from 11:00 to 16:00, and at 16:00 the official awarding of the winning participants in all categories will take place. Applications for participation are accepted at: https://forms.gle/ADiXRTD2VX1rruLk8 as well as through all other communication channels of the museum.

On weekends - 10 and 11.10 (Saturday and Sunday) from 11:00 to 15:00 are provided creative and educational activities for children outdoors in the park "Dondukova Garden". Thanks to the team of the museum and our partners from NGO "Green Balkans", RIEW-Plovdiv, Club "AGARTA", farm "Place for Angels" and Foundation "Wilder Rhodopes" this year we will have a rich and interesting program. On both days, visitors will be able to view the Wilder Rhodopes Foundation's exhibition on the biodiversity of the Eastern Rhodopes and will be able to write their promise to Earth on a canvas on which a beautiful tree, the Tree of Promises, will be painted. A special game "Protect the water" with prizes will be organized.

The program of activities in park "Dondukova Garden" will be:
Saturday - October 10 from 11:00 to 15:00:
• Item "Mammals" - a short lecture on recognition and a workshop for drawing the steps of predatory mammals - wolf, lynx, bear and others.
• "Let's protect them" point - interactive educational games for species that once reached the brink of extinction from our nature (NGO "Green Balkans")
• Insects are important for everyone - paper insect workshop, butterfly game "Find me in the jungle"
• Item "Young artist" - painting studio on "Endangered water animals"

Sunday - October 11 from 11:00 to 15:00:
• Item "Feeling of flowers" and "Life of bees" - workshop for planting flowers, demonstration of the life of bees (RIEW-Plovdiv and farm "Place for angels")
• Orienteering and Mountain Safety - mountain safety lecture, orienteering game with prizes (Agartha Club)
• Item "Our parents' games" - jumping with an elastic band, lady with chalk, jumping rope, spinning a hoop, playing with a ball
• Clean Land - educational game for recycling, workshop for making souvenirs from waste
