Urbanization – Exhibition of photos by Michail Georgiev
3th July - 21th July
Rubber Gallery
KAPANA, 6 Hr.Dukmedchiev st.
“Urbanization” is a dissertation by Michail Georgiev which aims to be a photographic document focused on the citizens who live in the villages and small towns in Bulgaria. The visitors of the exhibition will be able to enjoy 29 typological portraits, shot in a movie. Again, as it was during the previous exhibition (“Love and consent”, 2013) Michail gives prominence to the black-and-white photos, but increases the size.
About the exhibition Michail says:
“When I was a pupil I used to spend the summer in my grandfather’s village- Kostenets. I clearly remember the hot summer days and the lands full of people of any age- those who lived there and those who had come as visitors. I remember that our parents were not worried to leave us alone until midnight, or after that. Nowadays, all of these people, for one reason or another, are drawn by the big city and our villages become deserted. “
