Stefan Valdobrev celebrates his 50th anniversary with a book

Actor, musician, songwriter, frontman of the group "Usual Suspects", one of the most diverse and talented artists in Bulgaria - Stefan Valdobrev - celebrates his 50th birthday this year on May 20. The birthday is special and unusual: together with the publishing house "Knigomania", he released his "Book of Songs". The beautiful volume of over 360 hardcover pages includes lyrics, memoirs and confessions, photos and facsimiles of notebooks and music notebooks. The editor of the publication is the writer and playwright Yana Borisova, and the designer is Todor Manolov. The photos are the work of Pavel Chervenkov.
The conditions of the state of emergency in the country thwarted the unusual premiere concert prepared by Stefan Valdobrev in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture in May with the participation of "The Usual Suspects" and many new "specially suspected" actors, musicians, colleagues, friends, guests and characters from the book. .
But now the book is on its way, together with its author, who has prepared many surprises for his loyal fans. The performance in Plovdiv is on July 2 at 19:00 h. (7 pm) at the Roman Stadium.
The event is organized with the financial support of the Municipality of Plovdiv and is free!
 "Book of Songs" is the first book by Stefan Valdobrev, which can be defined as a literary album of texts, poetry and biographical stories. In it, he manifests himself as a skilled narrator, describing honestly, sensually, without manners and pretense the creative process of creating 41 songs, covering the period from the 80s to the present day. The publication takes the reader on an exciting walk: how a hit can be created from an accidental idea, syllables, pun or any verbal or musical phrase, refracted through the context of public events and through the prism of the artist's personal life.
Each text of a song is actually a ready-made assembled puzzle of notes and drafts, memories, impressions, thoughts, hesitations, personal growth. For the first time Stefan Valdobrev allows his audience so close to him, reveals his way of thinking and his values, how the music sounds in his mind, what "tricks" he applies during his recordings. But as you read these 41 stories about the creation of his most popular songs, which became hits and stood the test of time, you will feel and appreciate the ease and sincerity with which the author entertains you, you will smile at the humor and self-irony, his ability to enjoy the little things of everyday life, his belief that nothing in life is accidental.
