“HORIZONS”

Tsvetanka Velkova is an artist from Ruse. She was born in 1955 and started to paint as a hobby in 2000. Her first solo exhibition was in 2002. By now she has presented her paintings in 4 solo and 5 joint exhibitions. She has participated in many activities of Society of Artists – Ruse, as well as spring saloons, annual celebrations and bazar exhibitions. Since 2014 she is a member of the Society of Artists – Ruse. A distinctive touch to her artistic style is her spontaneous artistic sense of the world. She paints mainly oil on canvas.

For the exhibition “Horizons” Tsvetanka Velkova has selected for the Plovdiv audience landscapes, still lives and flowers. Those are different horizons of an inner artistic worldview brought up in the spirit of “The Small Vienna”. The author tells about herself: “My love for painting is not accidental. Although I have graduated “Hristo Botev” high school, I have not studied academic painting and most of my life I have worked in Ruse factory “Petar Karaminchev”. For me drawing is a cherished love. In it I share my emotion, what my soul feels in the curves and shades of the canvas.”

She is inspired by nature, sunrises and sunsets on the Danube. Winter landscapes are her favourite. She is talented at capturing the peculiar game of light and shadow, the shimmering of water, the soft light before the dawn and the grids of boughs and timelessness in the eternal themes of love and nature.

You are welcome to the official opening of the exhibition in 17:00 on March 8th, 2016 in the exhibition hall of Regional Ethnographic Museum – Plovdiv. 

The exhibition will be presented by Ani Draganova, member of Club “Friends of REM – Plovdiv”. It will be on display until March 21st.
