„FOLLOWING IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF BULGARIAN GARDENERS“
In relation to the 100th anniversary of the Association of Bulgarians in Hungary, celebrated in 2014, the Research Institute of Bulgarians in Hungary as initiated the project “Following in the Footsteps of Bulgarian Gardeners” together with Regional Museum of History – Veliko Tarnovo, the Museum of the Gardener – Lyaskovets and Bishop Constantine of Preslav's University of Shumen. The main goal of this project was to create a cultural route that traces the contribution of Bulgarian gardeners to the common Europpean cultural and historical heritage that would grow into a major European project.
The first major event of this project is the bilingual traveling exhibition “Following in the Footsteps of Bulgarian Gardeners” organized by the Research Institute of Bulgarians in Hungary with the support of the Bulgarian government and the Bulgarian Republican minority government in Szigetszentmiklos. The exhibition was compiled by Manika Tyutyunkova together with the authors: Sergey Dobrev, Galia Chohadjieva, Jordan Tyutyunkov, Dr. Veneta Iankova and Ilia Vulev. The exhibition has been already presented in Budapest, Veliko Tarnovo, Shumen, Polikraishte, Elena and the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Sofia under the patronage of Mr. Valeri Simeonov, chairman of the Bulgaria-Hungary Friendship Group, Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly.
The guests of Regional Ethnographic Museum – Plovdiv will be able to experience highlights “Following in the Footsteps of Bulgarian Gardeners”, thanks to the special support of “Stoyna Krastanova” Foundation.
The official opening will take place on January 25th at 17:00 in Regional Ethnographic Museum – Plovdiv. It will be on display until February 10th.
