Jubilee Exhibition by Master Weaver Nikolina Dramova

“FROM GRANDMA'S CHEST”
Ritual and Ceremonial Cloths, Scarves, Table-Runners, Tablecloths

Nikolina Dramova was born on April 11 1937 in the city of Gabrovo. She graduated the textile school with specialty “Fabrics” and in 1958 she started to work in Maritsa workshop in Plovdiv. After that she specialized in “Fabric design”. Fate met her with the best master of fabrics Stoyna Krastanova and Nikolina became one of her numerous students. Inspired by her love for reviving the old fabrics and their use in the life nowadays, she started to work harder and improved her skills.

In 1977 she became a member of "Fellowship of Masters of Folk & Art Crafts". Together with a small group of weavers she produced traditional national costumes for the film productions „Vreme razdelno“ (Time of Violence), „Captain Petko Voyvoda“ etc. She had exhibits in Bulgaria and abroad. Her numerous diplomas and prizes speak for her long-standing work.

After 40 years of hard work she is tirelessly on the loom and weaves her love into the typical Bulgarian fabrics for the delight of the connoisseurs of Bulgarian national art. Nikolina Dramova devotes this exhibition to her 80 anniversary and to the celebration of 40 years of work in the fellowship.

Welcome to the official opening of the exhibition on June 15 2017 at 18:00h. in Regional Ethnographic Museum – Plovdiv. The exhibition “From Grandma`s Chest” will be on display until the end of June.
