PLOVDIV - SUCCESSFUL MODEL FOR MARKETING OF TOURIST DESTINATION

In the period 24th-26th of October 2016 in Troyan, the 4th Meeting of Business and Regional Authorities took place. The forum was organized by the Association of Bulgarian Tour Operators and Agents, and over 19 municipalities presented their tourist products to tour operators, tutors of the Geography of Tourism Department of Sofia University Kliment Ohridski and their students. Representatives of Plovdiv Municipality presented the alternative tourism resources of the destination during the second day of the meeting. 

The interactive approach of the representatives of Municipal Department for Tourism gained the attention of the audience. There was presented marketing movie of the city, as well as the latest news of the archaeological research of the Bidhop's Basilica, new hotels in Plovdiv, renovated tourist sites, such as Plovdiv Zoo, Natural Science Museum, Kapana District, Children's Railroad, the new tourist route "City of Artists", information for places for entertainment. 
The guests of the meeting shared their admiration for the inovative approach in presenting tourist products and routes, as well as online marketing of tourist destination, and greeted the Municipality of Plovdiv for the extreme success in this field.
