MUZEIKO COMICS WORKSHOP IN PLOVDIV
The project Muzeiko in Plovdiv will take kids on an adventure with a pencil, a sheet of paper and a children's museum. In three consecutive workshops our young participants will try out various comics techniques and make up a fairy tale story in which the future Bulgarian children's science center will become the main character. The story will then be printed as a comics poster.
Muzeiko is the name of the children's science center which is currently being built in Sofia. It was designed by American architecture firm LHSA+DP. Muzeiko is also the name of its permanent resident – an extraordinary creature in the shape of a triangle which travels to all kinds of places and transforms into all kinds of things. Muzeiko in Plovdiv is its new adventure. The designers of Compote Collective will help the children make up the story and tell it in pictures. The kids will be encouraged to work as a team and sketch Muzeiko's adventures using various comics techniques. Once they are finished, the drawings will be put together in a common story and printed out as a comics poster.
The children's science center Muzeiko is created and supported by the America for Bulgaria Foundation.
Compote Collective is an animation production company led by Vessela Dantcheva and Ivan Bogdanov. Part of Compote Collective are also a bunch of animators, illustrators and artists from several European countries. They have been brought together by the idea to create and tell visual stories through the expressive and unique visual language of each and every one of them.
