VELLOmobile
Bulgarian designer Valentin Vodev is back again with a workshop for inventing a mobile chill-out spot. It's called VELLOmobile. The goal is to develop a project for a mobile bar, café, kitchen or barbecue in the form of a trailer or any other construction that may be attached to a bicycle. Simple implementation is a must.
Possible options include transforming a sofa into a trailer to make a rickshaw, providing soundbars for a mobile disco, using batteries, solar panels or any weird add-ons that would allow bike riders to throw a party, hold their business meetings or just have a drink or two in the park. The mobile lounges may be practical and folding, or just beautiful and bizarre. It is important to make them compatible with a conventional bike.
The workshop is open for young designers and students. Two or three prototypes will be selected for production.
Valentin Vodev was born in Sofia. It's been quite a while since he settled in Vienna. He holds a Master's degree from the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and from the Royal College of Art in London. A key element in his design work is the thorough study of form and function. He likes to combine innovation with applied logic. Vodev has collaborated with designer and architect Ron Arad and with British designer Sebastian Conran. He was curator of Sofia Design Week 2011.
