MOVEMENT GENERATORS AND ICONOGRAPHIC COMPOSITION

ONE DANCE WEEK organizes a workshop with the internationally renowned Swiss choreographer Gilles Jobin (Gilles Jobin Dance Company) and Susana Diaz as an assistant choreographer.
The working title of the workshop is Movement Generators and Iconographic Composition. The workshop will be held for three consecutive days, August 29, 30 and 31. It is directed towards professionals and high-rank amateurs, and is absolutely free.

Requirements:
Each participant has to bring a set of 40/50 printed images – photos, pictures, and drawings. "Ballet" photos are not recommended.

About the workshop:
“Movement Generator” is an approach for creating choreography developed by Gilles Jobin. It creates and shapes a complete dance composition by collecting representation material from various sources: photos, pictures, drawings, etc. The workshop aims to engage every participant in creating an individual, multi layered and unique idea for choreography.
Movement Generators and Iconographic Composition will begin with a light warm up that will allow the participants to get to know Gilles Jobin and show their own skills. The warm up will gradually turn into a lesson that demonstrates various techniques in the field of contemporary dance and performance. The lesson will be adapted to meet the participants' level of ability. This fresh introduction will be followed by the main phase of the workshop, which is work with source material.
 
The Movement Generators and Iconographic Composition workshop is a module of "Dance Connected – establishing capacity for strengthening and diversifying the Bulgarian contemporary dance scene" - a project by EDNO Foundation for Culture and Art, with the financial support of the Bulgarian-Swiss Cooperation Program through the "Partnership and Expert Fund" (TF PEF).
