WORKSHOP BY RAYA STEFANOVA

During this one-day workshop designer Raya Stefanova will guide the participants' ideas and skills towards a radical transformation of the beautifully designed and functional TORRO chair. The latter was created by Velichko Velichkov, a most successful Bulgarian designer currently living and working in London.

In his TORRO Raya saw a potential to play with construction and shift the spotlight from the final product onto the actual process and moment of creation. Her workshop will attempt to demonstrate how intuitive reactions towards common materials and predefined parameters may lead to unexpected results. All high-school and university students interested in product design are welcome.

Raya Stefanova is the initiator, coordinator and mentor of the workshop. She recently graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven, and you can see her graduation project Living Soil in Plovdiv, as part of the program of the seventh edition of the festival.
