Exhibition "The Beauty of Japan"
The City Gallery of Fine Arts is pleased to invite you to an exhibition, part of the 32nd Days of Japanese Culture in Bulgaria.
The exhibition will present to the general public the colors and beauty of Japan through two of the most beautiful and interesting Japanese arts - kiri-e and temari.
For fans and practitioners of Kiri-e in Bulgaria, the exhibition is a real event for several reasons - this is the first exhibition of fully colorful works. "The Beauty of Japan" is an exhibition with a record number of authors, 18 of them from Japan, which is happening for the first time, thanks to the help of the gallery "Senga Art & Space" in Japan. The exhibition will be the largest so far, with over 120 works.
Rali Doneva-Koeva - the only Japanese-certified temari master in Bulgaria, will present her latest works. For the first time, Rali's students Silvia Totova and Ani Ivanova will take part in the exhibition.
Vernissage and meeting with the authors will be held on November 6 between 12:00 and 18:00 and on November 7 from 11:00 to 17:00.
The exhibition will be open from 10 am to 6 pm without Sunday and Monday and will last until November 24. Welcome to the Temporary Exhibition Halls at 15 Knyaz Alexander I Street. Admission is free.
An accompanying event will take place during the exhibition - Sensei Mayano Onodera - owner of the gallery "Senga Art and Space" will present the art of Kiri-e in an online lecture on November 14 at 12:00 h. (more information will be published later)
The exhibition can be visited in compliance with all epidemiological measures currently in force. For the same reason, the planned workshops will not be held.
The event is supported by the Embassy of Japan in Bulgaria and EU JAPAN FEST.
