Opera Plovdiv welcomes one of the leading Bulgarian piano singers with an international career - Dora Deliyska
The author's project of Dora Deliyska "Metamorphoses" - for the first time in Plovdiv. The symphonic programs of Plovdiv Opera with free entrance for students
On November 25 at 19:00 h. Plovdiv Opera invites Plovdiv residents and guests of the city to "METAMORPHOSIS" - a concert by DORA DELIYSKA and the Plovdiv Opera Orchestra - part of the cycle "Young Virtuosos", which presents world-renowned young Bulgarian musicians.
"Many composers have used the title "Metamorphoses" for their works. In my project I consider the theme not only as a compositional style, but also as a philosophical and artistic concept. Metamorphosis can occur in our soul or take an intellectual turn. The concept is based on the idea that art can always change, vary and something new can emerge through metamorphosis. In this sense, art can continue to exist without time constraints", said Dora Deliyska, who is traveling from Vienna especially for the concert.
Under the baton of Konstantin Dobroykov, Dora will present a program consisting of works with variations. The theme of "Dies Irae" is the internal connection between the works. It occurs in two of the pieces for piano and orchestra - Franz Liszt wrote his "Totentanz" based on this theme, and Rachmaninoff used the same theme in his Variation on Paganini (for example, in Variation No. 7).
The program will also include the emblematic work "Metamorphoses" by Hindemith. It is a four-part symphonic orchestral work based on piano themes by Carl Maria von Weber. Hindemith composed this work in 1944. The original theme is simple and short, which through its metamorphosis has been turned into a spectacular orchestral work in which he will perform Liszt - Dance of the Dead, Hindemith - Symphonic Metamorphoses on themes by Carl Maria von Weber, S. Rachmaninoff - Rhapsody on a theme by Paganini.
Following its mission to integrate opera and symphony art with young people, Opera Plovdiv gives all students the opportunity to take advantage of free admission to symphony concerts in its program in the new season. Free tickets are available at the box office of the Opera House in the House of Culture.
