"Big Band Plovdiv" and "Wind Band Plovdiv" with free concerts in favorite Plovdiv places

"Big Band Plovdiv" and "Wind Band Plovdiv" will delight Plovdiv residents and guests of the city with free concerts on the occasion of the upcoming holidays on stages located in the Central, Western, Northern and Trakia Districts. As a musical background, their performances will sound in addition to the upcoming Christmas Bazaar on Central Square, which begins on December 17.

"Big Band Plovdiv" was established in the early 2000s. Entirely composed of professional musicians, the band quickly became one of the musical emblems of Plovdiv. The founder, leader and conductor of the orchestra is Nikolay Geshev. Easily recognizable, temperamental on stage and much loved by its enthusiastic audience - this is the shortest way to describe the presence of the Big Band. During the years of its activity (already 21), Big Band Plovdiv has performed numerous concerts throughout the country. He is a participant in jazz festivals, musical host of ceremonies, constant participant in all major national celebrations in Plovdiv and festive programs on Easter and Christmas holidays, May 24 - Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, the Bulgarian alphabet, education and culture and of Slavic Literature, September 6 - Day of the Unification of Bulgaria and Feast of Plovdiv and others. These are just some of the events of the Big Band. Their repertoire is extremely wide - from classical jazz to contemporary Latin and pop performances. The orchestra has completed many projects with almost all prominent jazz and pop performers in Bulgaria. For several years it has been partnering on stage with the talents of the Art Voice Center, led by Rumi Ivanova.

Wind Band Plovdiv, again conducted by Nikolay Geshev, is the bearer and successor of the rich musical traditions of the genre in the city. The City Wind Band has been an emblematic formation for Plovdiv for more than 40 years. The orchestra was closed in 2000 due to lack of funds, but in 2007 it was restored and since then it has always delighted the people of Plovdiv with its rich repertoire and great sound.
