 An Englishman in Bulgaria

You can see the exhibition in “Ivan Vazov” library.
genre: painting
John Lansdown is a painter with an extremely wide and benevolent view of life so his successful “implantation” in the Bulgarian art is not surprising at all. Settled in Plovdiv, the city of painters, he is actively involved in the art life of the Union of Plovdiv Artists, showing his own exhibitions as well.
Master of the landscape, John creates a number of works in classical spirit and colors, captured in a magical moment. He knows the pure nature, untouched by human, as well as the urban scenery covered in romance. You can see that in the exhibition shown in the library.
John Ashton Barber was born in 1964 in Walsall, England. The years spent in Lakelands in northwest England formed him as a landscape painter. He learned in private schools and after 1980 participated in different international workshops in England, Wales, France and Bulgaria.  He works under the name Lansdown, the maiden name of his mother. Most of his work is made among the nature. He can easily capture the beauty and harmony of the amazing Bulgarian nature. He lives in the cultural capital of Bulgaria – Plovdiv since 2006, and is a member of the Union of Plovdiv Artists since 2011.
