The Municipality of Plovdiv participates in the Holiday and SPA Expo with an individual stand with attractive design of the Bishop's Basilica of Philippopolis
This year the city is presented with the logo of the prestigious title European Best Destinations 2022.

The Minister of Tourism Hristo Prodanov opened the 38th edition of the International tourism fair Holiday and Spa Expo. The exhibition is held in the period 24-25 February 2022 at the Inter Expo Center in Sofia and it is the largest tourism forum in Bulgaria, under the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism. The event is entitled "Let's get back to normal!". After the two most difficult years in the history of tourism worldwide, more than 110 exhibitors from all over Bulgaria, Greece, Great Britain, India, Spain, Iraq, Mongolia, Finland and others are presenting their tourist potential and attractive offers in the HOLIDAY & SPA EXPO. The event provides a unique opportunity for municipalities and managers of tourist sites to meet the competitors and to exchange ideas.

The Municipality of Plovdiv is a traditional exhibitor in Holiday and SPA Expo via the participation of experts from the Tourism Department. This year, the focus of the city's stand is again on the Bishop's Basilica of Philippopolis, as well as on the prestigious fourth place, which the city won in the ranking Best European Destination 2022 in its 13th edition.

The stand of Plovdiv with the Bishop's Basilica of Philippopolis, which meets great interest, has relied on an attractive design, with distinctive elements and brand that includes fragments of famous mosaics and a reference to the former appearance of the Basilica with unique medallions of various kind of birds. Above the front is the logo European Best Destinations 2022, which our city has the right to use in all its communications, media, website, advertising during the year of the title.

In support of the idea of ​​holding business meetings with current and future partners in the atmosphere of the promoted destination, many advertising materials for Plovdiv, cultural and historical sites, as well as the latest information and promotional materials for the site Bishop's Basilica of Philippopolis are arranged on the stand.

At the general stand of the Ministry of Tourism, the Thracian Tourist Region also took part, which also participates with a presentation in the business program this afternoon. With its rich accompanying program, the exhibition becomes a forum to share ideas and solutions. The problems facing the industry are many, only the joint work can find effective solutions for recovery. The participants in this year's edition are united around this idea, and it is expected that in the two days of the exhibition the representatives from the different sectors of the tourism industry will restore the direct contact, the most important thing at the moment.
