On 17.03.2022 at 17:00 in the building of the Regional Museum of Natural History - Plovdiv will be held the official opening of the guest photo exhibition Bulgaria and Spain - 30 Years Neighbours and Friends in Antarctica. The photo exhibition is dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Spain and the 30th anniversary of the joint exploration of Antarctica.

The exhibition is organized by the Center for Polar Research and the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute (BAI), the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in the Republic of Bulgaria and the Regional Museum of Natural History - Plovdiv. Special guests of the opening ceremony will be the Director of the BAI, Prof. Dr. Hristo Pimpyrev, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain in Bulgaria, H. Amb. Alejandro Polanco Mata, the Deputy Mayor for Culture, Archaeology and Tourism, Plamen Panov and the Mayor of the Central District, Georgi Stamenov.

The temporary exhibition will be housed in the new exhibition hall in the Lotus building, designed as a special exhibition space for visiting exhibitions and other thematic events of the museum. Until 10 April 2022, visitors will have the opportunity to view the 20 interesting photographs presenting important moments in the history of the Bulgarian-Spanish Antarctic friendship.
