Women's Logic
2 May, 19:00
Boris Hristov House of Culture, 15 Gladston St, Plovdiv
A single, still young woman is faced with a choice: A rich and powerful man proposes marriage to her. The prelude to it is a trip to Paris. His appearances are in the style of one-time aristocrats, albeit in the terms of today's Russia: a Bentley luxury car instead of a carriage and the invariable cases of champagne. His rival has nothing to offer but his love. The choice the young woman makes seems to defy logic. Or maybe it doesn't. If the notion of "feminine logic," as the famous Ukrainian playwright titled his work, is justified. "A lyrical comedy about love" - that's how theatre critics in Anatoliy Krim's homeland characterized the play after one of its many productions.
