The US Air Force Europe Orchestra and the Representative Wind Orchestra of the Bulgarian Air Force with a joint concert at the Ancient Theatre in Plovdiv

The United States Air Force Band in Europe, together with the Representative Wind Orchestra of the Bulgarian Air Force, will perform a concert "United through Music" on May 6 - Day of Bravery and Bulgarian Army Day at the Ancient Theatre in Plovdiv. The event starts at 18.00 h, entrance is FREE. In case of bad weather, the event will take place at the Boris Hristov House of Culture. In addition to the city under the hills, the two representative orchestras will delight the residents and guests of Varna, Burgas and Stara Zagora with their virtuoso performances.

The organiser is the US Embassy in Bulgaria. In Plovdiv, the concert is kindly hosted by the Ancient Plovdiv Municipal Institute and supported by the Municipality of Plovdiv.

The USAFE Concert Band brings the sound of America to the world's finest concert halls and outdoor amphitheaters, delighting audiences with the diverse stylistic heritage of American concert music. Their shows feature a spectacular mix of musical styles, including the likes of Aaron Copland's breathtaking symphonic works, John Williams' stirring Hollywood soundtracks, John Philip Sousa's patriotic marches, and Rodgers & Hammerstein's timeless Broadway tunes. As America's musical ambassadors, the USAFE Concert Band touches hearts around the world through the international language of music, fostering cultural ties and promoting American partnership around the globe.

The USAFE Representative Brass Band was formed in 2000 by order of the Commander of the Tactical Aviation Corps permanently stationed in Plovdiv. Since 2012 it has been part of the 3rd Air Base Graf Ignatievo. The orchestra participates in ceremonies welcoming state and military delegations, rituals held in honor of national and official holidays, exercises and training.

An important highlight of the orchestra's activities are concert performances throughout the country. The repertoire, rich in musical genres, wins the audience by combining tradition and modernity.

The representative brass band of the Air Force is the orchestra with the youngest orchestrators in the Bulgarian Army. Its conductor is Captain Mikhail Mladenov. It has been awarded numerous diplomas from international festivals and diplomas for high achievements in service.
