27 June - 3 July
Regional Ethnographic Museum – Plovdiv

Welcome to the opening of the XIV edition of the Week of Traditional Crafts on June 28 at 12.00 in the Regional Ethnographic Museum - Plovdiv. After a two-year break due to the pandemic, the Revival yard of the museum will again be variegated with colors and come alive with noise and songs, and the masters of old crafts will again be our guests.

We hope to "resurrect" this long-gone time again and to feel the spirit of the old Plovdiv bazaar. During the week the masters will demonstrate their skills, will train young and old, will offer buyers their handmade products.
As with any meeting between friends, we must not miss the fact that along with the work goes the fun. That is why on June 29 we will celebrate St. Peter's Day together, and according to an old Bulgarian custom there will be music and dancing throughout the week, wonderful people will be wailing among the boxwoods in the yard.

In this edition of Master Week, the focus will be on the overflow or play of colors, which we will try to illustrate with three radically different activities, such as felting wool, blowing glass and writing Easter eggs.

Opening: June 28, 2022 at 12.00.
Location: the picturesque yard of REM - Plovdiv
Duration: June 27 - July 3, 2022

During the week, various crafts will be presented to see not only the work, but also the people who, despite the difficulties, continue to work and carry the spirit of tradition. We will give visitors the opportunity to feel the magic that materializes masterpieces into unique works and turns the craftsman into an artist.

According to an old Bulgarian custom, there will be music and dancing throughout the week, there will be wonderful people among the boxwoods in the yard, there will be surprises with which the craftsmen will remember their visit to the Regional Ethnographic Museum.
