21 well-known artists come together for the project "Sculpture Now - Plovdiv 2022" of the City Gallery of Fine Arts - Plovdiv

The City Gallery of Fine Arts - Plovdiv continues the realization of one of its important programs - the presentation of famous Plovdiv artists working in different styles in the various visual arts. In two consecutive years so far, the gallery team has carried out the specialized collective exhibitions "Printmaking Now - Plovdiv 2020" and "Painting Now - Plovdiv 2021" with great interest of visitors and specialists. The author of the idea and curator of the exhibitions is Monika Romenska - artist and long-time curator at the gallery. The high value of the realization was appreciated with the Plovdiv Award last year (for the graphic exhibition).

Now the third exhibition dedicated to Plovdiv sculpture is about to open. 21 artists of different generations have been invited to participate in the project "Sculpture Now - Plovdiv 2022" to present their significant sculptural works and working drawings. The artists are connected to Plovdiv and the region by life and creativity. The curator's aim is that this peculiar study should cover the whole variety of themes, artistic techniques and styles, sealing the idea of the high level of Plovdiv sculpture. At the same time, the selection encourages young artists who are now establishing themselves in this complex and difficult field of art.

Participants: Atanas Kolev, Vasil Margaritov, Grozdan Ilkov - Grafa, Dimitar Rashkov, Dimitar Chonov, Evelina Petkova, Georzh Sopadzhiev, Ivan Ivanov, Ivan Totev, Lina Madjarova, Lora Parmakova, Lyuben Hranov, Milena Bochukova, Ognyan Chitakov, Sarkis Nersesyan, Svilen Kostadinov, Stefan Nenov Stoyan Zavarinov, Tsvetelina Angelova, Tsviatko Siromashki, Yanko Nenov.

The project exhibition is supported by the Municipality of Plovdiv as part of the 2022 Cultural Calendar.
