For the first year Plovdiv Jazz Fest will have its summer edition.

The Plovdiv Jazz Summer program will cover the beginning and end of August, and the events will take place in two places. Between August 3 and 5 from 21:00 in the Summer Cinema "Orpheus" in Plovdiv we will see the concerts of three jazz ladies: Miroslava Katsarova, Rosalia de Souza and Beloslava.

Plovdiv Jazz Summer starts on August 3 with Miroslava Katsarova and "The Long Shadows of August" - a concert by the trio of Plovdiv vocalist, which includes pianist Miroslav Turiyski and drummer Mladen Dimitrov. This year the three musicians celebrate 10 years since the beginning of their joint creative work.

The concert program includes mainly original songs in Bulgarian. The title of the concert "Long Shadows of August" is actually the latest song of the trio, which will have its original premiere in August. The author of the text is the poet Ina Ivanova, and the arrangement is by Miroslav Turiyski.

Brazilian singer Rosalia de Souza arrives on August 4 for the Plovdiv Jazz Summer program. Born in Rio de Janeiro, she went to Italy, where she received her education. Today she lives and works in Rome and the culture of both countries is very decisive for her music. Rosalia de Souza gained great popularity with her work with the Milan composer, DJ and producer Nicola Conte. Her aesthetics are marked by nostalgic references to the Brazilian boss Nova and the music from old European black and white films. Retro and modern at the same time, Rosalia de Souza is already well known to the Plovdiv audience, as in 2015 her concert opened Plovdiv Jazz Fest. This time she will arrive with her quartet and present her latest album Inspirada, released in March this year.

On August 5 will be the long-awaited anniversary concert of Beloslava, with which she celebrates 22 years on stage. The singer will immerse us in the beautiful and loving atmosphere of her music together with artists such as Zhivko Petrov, Dimitar Semov and Rosen Zahariev-Rocco.
