The ceremony will be held on June 2, 2022, Thursday, from 10.30 am in front of the monument to Hristo Botev in Tsar Simeon's Garden.

With a military ritual, worship, solemn speech and laying of wreaths and flowers, in Plovdiv will be honored the Day of Botev and those who died for the freedom and independence of Bulgaria - June 2.

Krastyu Krastev - Director of the Plovdiv Drama Theater and winner of the Special Award "Plovdiv" for outstanding achievements and overall contribution in the field of art and culture for 2021 will deliver a speech. The presenter will be Hristo Hristov.

The ceremony will be attended by the Military Brass Band, representative formations of the garrison - Plovdiv - honorary company and crown bearers, the Patriotism Committee and the Vasil Levski Committee.

The Day of Botev and those who died for the freedom and independence of Bulgaria is celebrated every year in Bulgaria on the day of the death of the poet and revolutionary Hristo Botev (June 2, 1876). celebrations since 1901, when Botev's rebels were present at the celebrations on Vola Peak (Okolchitsa). On June 2, 1948, at exactly 12 o'clock, the first signal for a minute of silence in the whole country was given.
