Letera Publishing House is pleased to invite you to the premiere of the album "Faces of Plovdiv" on June 10, 2022 at 18.00 in the Cultural Center "Trakart". Its creation is inspired by the photographic project of Sonya Stankova, launched in support of the candidacy of the city of Plovdiv for "European Capital of Culture 2019", aimed at bringing together a wider circle of citizens of Plovdiv and give them the opportunity to express their support cultural process. The project is part of the official program of Plovdiv - European Capital of Culture. The work is funded by the Municipality of Plovdiv under Component 4 "Works of Plovdiv writers and important publications for the city" and was realized with the kind assistance of KCM 2000 GROUP.

More than 500 people stood in front of my camera in an improvised photo studio in Old Plovdiv, the Ancient Theater, Roman Stadium Square, Knyaz Alexander Batenberg Street, in large residential complexes, as well as in places with more specific populations and ethnic groups. Plovdiv to pose for their portrait, with which they say: Yes, I am from Plovdiv and I am here now !! The portraits are not isolated from the urban atmosphere, but are a general picture of the time and spirit at this moment in our history. Some of the photographs were included in the opening program of Plovdiv - European Capital of Culture and shown during various cultural events during this period in our city. The collection of portraits increased in the following years. And the last portrait included in the album was taken a month before it was printed, "said Sonya Stankova.

The album will be presented by Cleo Protohristova, Nikola Lautliev and Sonya Stankova.

The guests will have the pleasure to hear several musical performances by the favorite Plovdiv actor Petar Toskov.
