"Microcosmos (2021) is a 40-minute film shot entirely in the courtyard of a post-Soviet neighbourhood in Poltava (Ukraine). The courtyard of this neighbourhood is in the film a mini model of the universe. Disguised as an astronaut, the artist collects various childhood memories and dreams from the residents of the neighborhood and symbolically shoots them into space as part of her performance.

Daria Pugachova is an artist and activist from Kiev, Ukraine. In 2013 - 2019 she played drums in the female trio Panivalkova. After the musicians split, Daria immersed herself in the field of contemporary art with her videos and performances. In her projects, Daria uses a variety of participatory and inclusive practices to engage the communities she works with. Her artistic approach lies in the presence of the artist and direct interaction with the audience in the public space.

At the meeting in Plovdiv, the artist will talk more about her art, her experiences and impressions during her stay in Bulgaria and her participation in various events in Sofia, Veliko Tarnovo and Gabrovo.

Daria Pugachova participates in the CONTEXT AiR 2022 program in Plovdiv as an extraordinary resident with the assistance of the Municipality of Plovdiv and thanks to the financial support of the Zinger-Zahariev Foundation.
