IN THE WORLD OF MUSIC - Vesko Eshkenazi and Veronika Todorova
The Pleven Philharmonic Orchestra invites you on July 26, 2022 (Tuesday) from 20:00 to a fabulous concert under the stars at the Bunardjika Summer Theater, Plovdiv, part of the national tour "In the World of Music".

VESKO ESHKENAZI is a world-renowned Bulgarian violinist, a graduate of NMU "Lyubomir Pipkov" and the National Academy of Music "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" - Sofia, where he studied violin with Angelina Atanasova and Prof. Petar Christoskov. Even as a child he performed as a soloist, and at the age of 11 he became the concertmaster of the "Pioneer" Philharmonic with conductor Prof. Vladi Simeonov. In 1992, he completed a two-year master class for soloists under Prof. Ifra Nieman at the "Guildhall School" - London, with a scholarship from the British Council and received a Solo Recital Diploma.
He is a laureate of the "Wieniawski" international violin competitions in Poznan - Poland, the Chinese International Competition in Beijing and the "Carl Flesch" - London. Winner of the "Musician of the Year 2010" award on the "Allegro vivache" program of the BNR.
Eshkenazi has been concertmaster of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra since 1999, with which he performs concerts on the world's most prestigious stages. His solo work includes appearances with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Classic FM, Sofia Philharmonic, London Philharmonic Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra, Monte Carlo and Mexico City Symphony Orchestras, Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, Prague Symphony Orchestra, Irish National Symphony Orchestra, Bach Chamber Orchestra – Berlin... Played under the direction of Maris Janssons, Bernard Haitink, Sir Colin Davis Ricardo Chai, Kurt Mazur, Carlo-Maria Giulini, Seiji Ozawa, Emil Chakarov, Martin Panteleev and others.
Since 1995, Vesco Panteleev-Eshkenazi has performed in a sonata duo with the pianist Lyudmil Angelov, they have performed a series of concerts in Europe. In 2019, Vesco Eshkenazi was awarded the "Honorary Citizen" award of Sofia.
Since 2000, he has been playing a Guarneri del Gesu violin from 1738, given to him by an anonymous sponsor in the Netherlands.
VERONIKA TODOROVA began her accordion studies with Marieta Zhekova at the Troyan music school, then continued in Dietz-Germany. From 2005 to 2007, she was a student at the private Jazz Academy of Renzo Ruggeri-Italy, after which she also completed instrumental pedagogy at the Music Academy in Darmstadt-Germany. Veronika performs on the stage of some of the most prestigious world music stages in Germany, Italy, Austria, Holland, Norway, Finland, Switzerland, Slovakia, Romania.
He is the winner of many First Prizes from national and international competitions: Accordion Competition in Plovdiv, "Citta di Lanciano" - Italy, "Primus Ikaalinen" - Finland, "Deutsche Meisterin 2006" - Germany and many others.
In 2004, she founded "Veronika Todorova Band", with which she released her first two albums "Rosso" and "Balkan Train", presented to the Bulgarian public in 2008. In the last 10 years, the group took part in a number of concerts and festivals, some of which with radio HR3 and "Deutsche Welle" in Germany. Veronika is currently participating in international projects together with musicians such as Christopher Herrmann, Raphael Zweifel, Rainer Michel, Bodek Janke, Salman Gambarov, Karoline Ton, Tamara Lukasheva, Cynthia Zaven and others. With some of them, he founded the group "Eurasians Unity", which won the prestigious "World Music Prize" in Germany in 2015, and two years later, with the support of the Goethe Institute, they released their first album.
In 2020, after 17 years outside Bulgaria, Veronika returned to her homeland, founded an international music and arts festival "Jam on the river" in Debnevo and found her place on the Bulgarian stage. Veronika performs a wide-spectrum repertoire from baroque, classical and tango-nuevo, to her own compositions and ethno-jazz.
