Alarm Punk Jazz and Dejan Iliic again on Radio Plovdiv on the last day of June!

One of the leading jazz pianists in the Balkans is again in Plovdiv - exactly 3 years after his first concert in the concert studio of the radio in May 2019. This time - also with the premiere of a new solo album.
Dejan Iliic is the creator and leader of the beloved in our country new jazz quartet EYOT, with which since 2011. So far there are four participations in "Alarma Punk Jazz" (in the First Studio of the Bulgarian National Radio in Sofia), one - at the Jazz Festival in Bansko and one at the "Jazz Perelik" in the Rhodopes. In 2019 Deyan also made a mini-tour in Blagoevgrad, Sofia and Plovdiv with the solo program from his current album DYAD, and with EYOT participated in another iconic Bulgarian festival - Wrong Fest (held the same year in Serbian and not in Bulgaria - in Pancevo).
During the years with EYOT, often called "Nirvana of European Jazz", Deyan works with legends on the contemporary jazz and rock'n'roll scene such as Jim Barr (bassist of Portishead and Get The Blessing), who in 2014. produced the album "Similarity", and the next album - "Innate" - was recorded with Steve Albini in his studio Electrical Audio in Chicago. In the last album of the quartet so far - "557799" (the title is a play with the rather typical for us sizes 5/8, 7/8 and 9/8) - also co-producer is Jim Bar, who also records in another legendary studio complex - Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios. As in "Similarity", one of the plays features Pete Judge (trumpet) and Jake McMurchie (saxophone) from Get The Blessing. And the mastering of the album was done in ... Abbey Road Studios.
Dejan Iliic's solo concerts are not a chamber version of EYOT, but a parallel universe in which things sometimes come close to what we know from the quartet, and sometimes ... take on completely new and unexpected directions. Jazz, folk codes, ambient, contemporary music, acoustic space rock even ... But these are just words: you have to hear it live, experience it in person.
