Performance "The Prince of the Sea and the Prince of the Earth"

THE PERFORMANCE IS PART OF THE CELEBRATIONS ORGANIZED BY THE MUNICIPALITY OF PLOVDIV, ON THE OCCASION OF 50 YEARS OF THE TWINNING OF THE CITIES OF PLOVDIV AND OKAYAMA.

The puppet-theater show was created especially for the program of Plovdiv - European Capital of Culture 2019 and is inspired by the traditional Japanese puppet theater Bunraku. The legend of the first Japanese emperor comes to life on the stage. The tale presents the relationship between two brothers - lords of the sea and land, tells about the pure love between the prince of the land and the princess of the ocean and the power of honesty, dignity, devotion ... A classic Japanese legend about love, trust, word and meaning of of life.

The performance is realized by the most established Bulgarian theater artists in collaboration with two Japanese artists: a puppeteer and a choreographer.
