IX International Photo Salon PLOVDIV 2022 invites to the first exhibition - opening and awarding.

International Photo Salon Plovdiv is held for the ninth year in a row under the patronage of FIAP, HPS, NSFA, with the traditional support of the Plovdiv Municipality as part of the city's Cultural Calendar for 2022. "It is an extraordinary honor for us that the municipality of Plovdiv has been #Together with us since our first edition in 2014. A five-member jury of two foreigners and three Bulgarians examined and evaluated all photographs in the period from June 2 to 5, 2022. For the chairman of the jury, this year we invited Branislav Brkic, MFIAP, HonEFIAP, EFIAP/s from Serbia, and accepted as members: Alla Sokolova, EFIAP from France, Yuliy Vassilev, EFIAP/b, Aleksandar Ivanov, EFIAP, QPSA and Nikifor Todorov, EFIAP from Bulgaria. 267 authors participated in the publication with a total of 3374 photographs from 33 countries in all 6 sections. For the final selection, the jury evaluated 798 photographs of 210 participants from 31 countries. With its high professionalism and experience, on the last day the jury team determined all the awards. Let's congratulate the photographers and wish them even greater success in the youngest and brightest art", said the organizers of the International Photo Salon Plovdiv 2022 Anton and Lyubka Savovi from "Reflexi" OOD.

The official opening to the public of a selection of the awarded photographs and the award ceremony will take place on 13.08.2022, at 6:00 p.m. in Plovdiv at Roman Stadium Square.

Award-winning photographs by 85 authors from 24 countries are included in the exhibited exhibition.

The big news for Bulgarian photography, and at the same time a pleasant surprise, is that the Best Author in the salon, who receives the official badge of FIAP, is Miroslav Mominski, EFIAP/b. The plaque "Award for the best participation in the salon" from the Photographic Society of Greece (HPS) appreciated the participation of Yavor Michev, AFIAP. Miroslav Mominski, EFIAP/b is also the best performing Bulgarian author.

This year, the Honorary Diploma of the Plovdiv Municipality awarded Zhenya Madzharova-Petrova from Burgas.

The best photographs won 190 individual awards, 11 awards (statistically) for authors and 2 for photo groups and clubs. This rich prize pool has awarded the highest honor to the works of a total of 100 authors from 25 countries - from Argentina, through countries from Europe, Asia, Africa, and all the way to New Zealand.

The highest award, the Cup of the IX MFS Plovdiv 2022, is for photography by Arun Mohanrash from England.

He won the plaque for the best foreign author (from the organizer) again.

The organizers awarded with a crystal plaque a photograph of Miroslav Mominski, EFIAP/b, who was the runner-up of the grand prize "Salon Cup".

"We are particularly pleased that there was again interest in group participation in the competition - Bulgarian and foreign photography groups and clubs from Greece, Iran, India, China, Russia, France and South Africa. Young authors from South Africa, Russia, Slovenia, China, Serbia and Bulgaria participated in the challenge to young authors (16-21 years old), announced for the second year. The pleasant surprise in this initiative is that among the young photo artists there are authors with awards", the organizers also shared.

The plaque for the best performing photo club this year goes to a club from India - India International Group, and the plaque for the runner-up club goes to Focus Photo Club, Iran. A total of 32 native photo artists won 73 awards, with 15 of these awards being medals - 7 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze medals.

With great pride, we can state that the native authors represented Bulgaria with dignity. Their works will reach 33 countries through the printed album, which according to the regulations each participant in the competition will receive. Of all awarded Bulgarian authors, 11 participants (individuals and from the "Photographic Association" Plovdiv group) are from Plovdiv and one from Asenovgrad - with a total of 26 awards. Photographs by several Bulgarian authors were awarded the most prizes: Miroslav Mominski, EFIAP/s from Ravda, Yavor Michev, AFIAP from Ruse, Teodora Dimitrova, EFIAP, Lyubomir Argyrov, AFIAP and Hristo Dimitrov from Plovdiv and Irina Stoilova from Sofia.
