The exhibition “Traces in time” – the Architect and Mayor Schnitter
Municipal Institute "Old Plovidv", Regional State Archives - Plovdiv, National library "Ivan Vazov", Historical museum - Velingrad and the inheritors of the Schnitter family are pleased to invite you to the exhibition "Traces in time - Architect and Mayor Shniter" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the death of the architect Joseph Vaatslav Schnitter, creator of the general regulation plan of the city, and 80th anniversary of the one of the most successful mayors in Chepino – Joseph Iosifov Schnitter, son of the famous architect.
The exhibition will be open on the 4th of April 2014 at 6.30 pm in the Balabanov house in the Old town and there will be a round table discussion (theme: “Plovdiv – a city of Schnitter”, 5.30-6.30 pm) and a film-show from the series "Hot tracks" of the Czech National TV (19:00 - 19:45 pm).
The exhibition consists of two parts - "The architect Joseph Schnitter", father and "Mayor Joseph Schnitter", son. Various photographs and rich documentary material from the personal archive of the family present interesting moments of the life and work of architect Schnitter and the activities of his son as mayor of Velingrad in an obscure and controversial period of our history.
The exhibition will continue for a month and is made for all the patriotic Bulgarians who are interested in the life and work of this remarkable couple, father and son, that left lasting traces in the history of Plovdiv and Velingrad.
