After the success of its first edition, held in the Old Town of Nessebar on August 26 and 27, 2021, the Thracian Mysteries Festival once again gathers connoisseurs and admirers of the authentic reenactments of the Ancient Orphic Thracian epic.

The large-scale ruins, witnesses of Thracian antiquity, will come to life with the interactive performance "Thracian Mystery Drama", as well as with the renewed exhibition "Thracian Mysteries" by the digital artist Dilyana Angelova, lectures by the Institute of T-Science and creative workshops.

The ticket for "Thracian Mystery Drama" gives you access to the interactive performance, which will take place on 30.09.2022 / 20:30 at the Plovdiv Ancient Theater (no pre-booked place), as well as to the accompanying festival forms - a lecture and creative workshops by 18:00

Access to the creative studios is only possible with a valid ticket.

The program of the festival in the Old Town of Plovdiv includes:

- Interactive performance "Thracian Mystery Drama" - 30.09.2022 / 20:30 at the Ancient Amphitheater

- Exhibition "Thracian Mysteries" - digital artist Dilyana Angelova will present her renewed collection of canvases, provocative with their deep Orphic symbolism

- Lecture of the Institute of T-Science with lecturers Todor Yotov, Boryana Racheva-Yotova and Desislava Ivanova

- Ateliers and workshops

The one-of-a-kind creative workshops help deepen the exploration of the mysticism and power encoded in the preparation of the ritual food, clothing and ritual objects accompanying the processions at each stage of the sacred festival cycle:

▪ The mystery of Bulgarian ritual bread - participants in this workshop will touch the mystery and deep "messages" encoded by our ancestors in the preparation of bread.

▪ The mystery of the festive garment - participants in this workshop will learn about the sacred symbolism and purpose of the garment, as a message that can be "read". They will have the opportunity to "step into the clothes" of the ancient Thracians, through prepared replicas of clothing similar to those depicted on authentic artefacts.

▪ The mystery of votive clay tablets - participants in this workshop will touch and learn more about the Thracian votive tablets with sacred texts found in ancient archaeological finds in our lands from this era. They will learn how to read the sacred messages and will be able to write a personal votive tablet.
