ANGEL GESHEV with a retrospective exhibition

From September 2 to 22, the famous artist Angel Geshev will present his retrospective exhibition dedicated to his 60th anniversary. The opening is on September 2 at 6:00 p.m. on the first floor of the Temporary Exhibition Halls, 15 Knyaz Alexander I Street.

Angel Geshev was born in Plovdiv, where he graduated from the USSR Academy of Performing Arts in his hometown (1981).
In 1993, he completed his master's degree at the "Graphics" department of the "Surikov" Moscow State University of Applied Sciences. In the Russian capital, he works in the Moscow Studio of the Russian Academy of Fine Arts. Fate took him to China, where in 1998 he was the creative director of "A&Y" Studio in Beijing.
In 2015, in Plovdiv, he founded the "AG-Art Project" Foundation, and the following year he created the "Arsenal of Art" Gallery.
He is the author of dozens of solo exhibitions in Bulgaria, Russia, China, Germany, Taiwan, etc. Participated in a large number of international exhibitions in Europe and Asia. He is the winner of prestigious awards for graphics at home and abroad (2008 - the Grand Prize for Graphics from the "Faith" Festival - Moscow).

"Angel Geshev's dream since his student years to capture the breath of time through the lithographic print is before us... And just as rock paintings are the universal writing of humanity from the most ancient times, so the artist has given his answer to the breath of time, layering cultural layers with different written characters and historical episodes, through his characteristic painterly texture, breathing new life into them, full of messages" - says Prof. Aksinia Dzurova about the artist.

And after six dynamic decades of life, Angel Geshev is convinced: "Memory always catches up with us, the problem is what will we call it for and will we hear its answer to our questions..."
