Exhibition of

Collective for national embroidery and ornamentation "Rositsa Chukanova"

Come to the opening of the exhibition of the National Embroidery and Ornamentation Collective "Rositsa Chukanova" "The Bridge between Traditions and Modern Times" on the occasion of its 54th anniversary on September 14 at 18.00. The history is both short and long enough to establish and create traditions in the activities of a collective. A collective that has created master weavers and works in weaving that bear the characteristic of the region from which it was taken and of the woman whose hands made it.  

We hardly think about it and realise that we have in our homes a real treasure and knowledge accumulated over hundreds of years. And the more we know about this heritage, the stronger and more meaningful is the connection with our ancestors.

With the present exhibition, the Rositsa Chukanova Collective brings this knowledge, woven into the presented contemporary women's outfits and objects - panels, tishlifers, carriages, as well as into the national costumes on display /selected, completed and restored/ and those made entirely with new materials based on the patterns of our ancestors.
Everything that our senses will enjoy going through the exhibits has been taken from researched samples and transformed by the hands of the weavers of the Collective into national embroideries, costumes and weaved ornaments and fabulous colours unique in their splendour.

The exhibition will be at the museum until 30.09.2022.

The exhibition is part of the events of the European Heritage Days initiative.
