Digital exhibition "The Ghost is Here" by Mitch Brezunek
In his exhibition, French artist Mitch Brezounek recreates 12 Soviet monuments in Bulgaria.
The digital exhibition "The Ghost is Here", which interweaves historical facts and visual art, opens in virtual space on September 28, at https://ghost.bg/exhibit/. The exhibition will be open to visitors for 12 days - until 9 October 2022.
In The Ghost is Here, Mitch Brezunek questions the repetition of historic events for Europe by creating 3D interventions on 12 monuments to the Soviet Army in Bulgaria. Brezunek worked in collaboration with prof. Evelina Kelbecheva, a Bulgarian historian and researcher of the country's communist past. She is also the author of the exhibition's historical texts, providing the necessary context and references. For the creation of the video works, the author collaborated with 3D artist Darky.
The online exhibition is part of Brezunek's project GHOST (Ghost), which aims to provoke dialogue and generate funds to support the cultural sector in Ukraine and Bulgaria.
All works will be available for purchase in the form of an NFT (irreplaceable token). The collection will be published fully online by November 9, and 70% of the proceeds will be used to support Ukrainian independent artists and cultural events in Ukraine, as well as the Bulgarian independent art scene. With the opening of the online exhibition today, the next two NFT works from the collection - LIGHT AND DUST (Sofia) and BOTTLENECK (Byala Slatina) - are also on sale on the project's website.

The exhibition "The Ghost is Here" was presented for the first time as a "more navel" event between 9 and 12 September in Plovdiv. The second part of the exhibition, including an AR experience ("augmented reality"), will be presented in Sofia in November.
"The Ghost" is a fiction that mixes history and visual art, it is an artistic project that aims to provoke the critical spirit but does not aim at physical destruction. - Brezunek tells Dnevnik
