The exhibition "Polish Poster" from the rich collection of the Polish Institute in Sofia presents in the Balabanov House in Plovdiv works by some of the most famous names of representatives and followers of the Polish poster school. The collection is a colourful panorama of works by artists who have linked their life and creative path with the powerful poster tradition. The presentation of the works is at the invitation of Art academy Asen Diamandiev - Plovdiv. The opening is on 3.10.2022. at 17.00. The entrance is free.

In the world of contemporary visual culture, the Polish poster is a trademark and a territory that attracts those enchanted by the art of the poster. In the grey reality of post-war Poland, extraordinary posters appear on the ruined streets. They are distinguished by a bright individuality, an extraordinary artistic form, a free play of imagination and a wealth of emotions.

The poster, created by eminent artists, is elevated to the rank of art, and the street becomes its gallery. The Polish school of poster art has gained recognition worldwide and has made guest appearances in renowned galleries and art museums. The poster art created by Polish artists to this day is diverse, attracts prominent personalities, manifests itself in various forms and continues to seek new forms of expression.

The collection includes posters by the greatest masters: Waldemar Szwiedzi, Stasys Eidrigiewicz, Roman Kalarus, Andrzej Pongorski, Jan Lenica, Lech Majiewski, Mieczyslaw Gurowski, etc., as well as works by former students of Prof. Józef Szwiedzi. Lech Majewski.

The presentation in Plovdiv is at the invitation of the Department of Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Art academy Asen Diamandiev - Plovdiv.  The exhibition is hosted by the Municipal Institute Ancient Plovdiv. The organizers of the event are Polish Institute in Sofia and Art academy Asen Diamandiev - Plovdiv.

The exhibition can be viewed from 3 to 20 October at the Balabanov House (opening hours from Tuesday to Sunday 9.30-12.30, 13.00-18.00).
