Choir concert for the Day of Music
The Plovdiv Singing Society "Angel Bukoreschliev" and the Chamber Singing Formation "Sunny Voices", with conductor Ilian Tiganev, will delight Plovdiv residents and guests with a free concert for the second time this year. The event will take place on the Kamenitsa stairs at 11:00 on 01.10.2022. It is a gift from the performers for the World Music Day.
The repertoire of the two ensembles consists of arranged Bulgarian songs and songs by famous composers. The concert will also feature the young gifted accordionist Nikola Kosov. The event is supported by Plovdiv Municipality.
PPD "Angel Bukoreschliev" traces its origins back to 1895 in the house of Nikola Popov, where 18 enthusiastic music lovers gathered and decided to create a choir. The conductor was invited to be Angel Bukoreschliev, a singing teacher at the Plovdiv Male High School. A few months later, on March 4, 1896, a founding meeting was held, at which the amateur male choir was renamed the Plovdiv Singing Society. Article 1 of its Statute states: "The Singing Society is established to develop and spread Bulgarian and Slavic singing and art music in general". On September 21, 1897. "The song unites, cheers and comforts". Connected with the life of the Society are the activities of the conductors Anton Tsarigradsky, Hristo Manolov, Ivan Kochetov, Kosta Nikolov, Nikola Kenoff, Boris Kochov, Svetoslav Obretenov, Chudomir Delchev, Prof. Nikolay K. Assen Diamandiev, Mesru Mehmedov, Krikor Chetianyan, Nikola Lipov and others. The Society was named the representative choir of the city, and the Union of Bulgarian Composers became the patron of the composition - the main core was the choir of the newly established in 1953 opera, in 1956 - on the eve of its 60th anniversary was awarded the Order "Cyril and Methodius" - 1st degree for its long creative activity.
PF "Sunny Voices" was established 4 years ago. The ensemble is chamber, the choristers sing for pleasure and from the heart. They have performed a number of charity concerts. Girls from AMTII "Prof. Asen Diamandiev", NUMTI "Dobrin Petkov" and other educational institutions in Plovdiv. The group debuted with a concert at the Roman Stadium as part of the Youth Symphony Orchestra "Progressive" project - part of the International Festival "Days of Music at Balabanov House" in 2019. She was awarded a bronze medal at the International Festival with a competitive character "Crossroads of the Muses", Sofia. 2020.
The upcoming concert features singers Maria Khubenova, Gergana Terzieva, Bogi Valentinova, Nadezhda Terzieva, Beloslava Tancheva and Adelina Nalbantova.
