"Plovdiv Chamber Hall" invites the citizens and visitors of Plovdiv to Easter holiday concert with Peter Salchev and his project “One ballad night” on April 22 at 7 pm in the First Studio of Radio Plovdiv.
Moments of bright empathy – these words can summarize the message of “One ballad night”. The project which was born two years ago in Plovdiv, enjoys a creative vitality and won the hearts of the audiences in Varna, Ruse, Dobrich, Sofia, Burgas.
Its author is Peter Salchev - one of the leading jazz performers in the country. The program includes some of the most beautiful ballad themes like “My funny Valentine”, “How deep is the ocean”, “Slow hot wind”, “Amapola”.
The ballad is a difficult art – says Salchev - this music is saturated with meaningful pauses. It is another invention in music – saying much with a few words. The texts of these songs are essential because their verbal imagery enriches the overall sound and are just as beautiful as the musical themes themselves.
“One ballad night” is a project made with love, a lot of humility and a wish for more love between people. This is the main message of our concerts and we hope our audience to be touched.
The concert in Plovdiv coincides with Easter and this is no accident. We want to show the audience that after the difficult days will surely come good times – completes the musician.

The music in “One ballad night” is on the edge of the genre – there are typical jazz sounds as well as typical popular style. But it is certain that the audience will hear some beautiful music served with love and professionalism by the participants: Peter Salchev - vocals, Miroslav Turiiski - piano, Peter Momchev - saxophone, Alexander Lekov - bass, Emil Pehlivanov - drums, Vesselin Mitev – cello.
For the new season, "Chamber Hall Plovdiv" is co-financed by the Municipality of Plovdiv and the "Deroni" company. The realization is supporting the candidacy of the city for European Capital of Culture 2019. The project is in partnership with the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2014.
