In 1962 the Music Department was established in the library. Over time, accumulating a collection - sheet music, music media, reproductions, reference books and specialized literature in the field of art, in 1977 the Music Department grew into the Art Department. It now has its own reading room, collection, film library, sound and video carriers, exhibition spaces... It develops activities - cinema lectures, Music Studio, Opera Club, Children's Story Theatre, exhibitions, etc.

On 1 December at 5.30 pm. The Art Theater will present two exhibitions - one with archival materials from its collection and the other of famous Plovdiv artists - Angel Geshev, Angel Kitipov, Boris Bogdanov, prof. Dancho Grigorov, Elitsa Gigova, Emilia Arabadzhieva, Ilian Kolev, Lili Kyuchukova, Marin Minev, Matej Mateev, Michaela Karayaneva, Micho Dimitrov, Neli Tsenova, Nikolai Baldev, Polina Stancheva-Todorova, Svetlozar Chavdarov, Hristo Zhekov. The opening was followed by a concert of the rock band "Signatura", composed of library employees.

People who have worked over the years for the prestige of the Art Library are also invited to the celebration.
