Alarm Punk Jazz presents "An Evening with NORMAN BEAKER TRIO"!
Jack Bruce's "right hand man" back in Plovdiv! This time the place is Bee Bop Cafe.
Norman Beaker (1950, Manchester) is both a colossus of this music, which for the last half century and more we call "British blues", and a tireless traveller, for whom the big world stage and small clubs around the Balkans are equally important.
And on the big stage he's played with the likes of Clapton, Graham Bond, Buddy Guy, BB King, Eric Burdon, Chuck Berry and Alexis Corner over the decades. Also: on a more permanent and longer-term basis, with Jack Bruce (from the mid-'80s until the Cream bassist's death), and with Chris Farlow and Van Morrison (to this day).
After more than five decades in the blues, he continued to tour all over Europe - even during the pandemic he was quite active as conditions allowed.
