Letera Publishing House and Plovdiv Municipality invite Plovdiv residents to the premiere of the latest book dedicated to our beloved city - "A Memory of Plovdiv 2", by Dimitar Raychev. The event will take place on December 15, 2022 (Thursday), at 6 pm at the Ramada Plovdiv Trimoncium Hotel, 5th floor.

The work is funded by the Municipality of Plovdiv under Component 4 "Works of Plovdiv writers and important publications for the city". The public presentation of the book is under the patronage of Plovdiv Mayor Zdravko Dimitrov.

About the book:

A documentary book that continues the idea of "Memories of Plovdiv" and covers the period from 1944 to 1989. The construction of the Plovdiv Bridge Fair, the Drama Theatre, the halls in the Vastanicheski district, the Ninth of September Stadium, the Trimontzium Hotel, the Singing Fountains, the Leningrad Hotel, the Evolpia RUM and many other buildings, structures and facilities are described in detail. Some of them were erected on undeveloped sites, and others - on sites with residential buildings, which unfortunately had to be demolished. The book also describes a large number of unrealised projects. Some have even become urban legends, while others are still waiting for their time and place to be erected.

"Memory of Plovdiv 2 is a retrospective of what was built and what could not be built in the era of socialism. The book contains a wealth of illustrative material, much of which is being published for the first time.
