145 years since the Liberation of Plovdiv

A celebration of the 145th anniversary of the liberation of Plovdiv from Ottoman rule will take place on Monday, January 16, 2023, at 11.00 a.m. with a pilgrimage to the monument of Captain Alexander Burago in the Dondukov Garden (behind the central House of the newlyweds).

The military ceremony, including the laying of wreaths and flowers, will be attended by the Military Brass Band, a representative platoon, wreath bearers, and representatives of the Patriotism Committee.

Speech on the occasion of the anniversary will be delivered by Stoyan Ivanov - Director of the Regional History Museum in Plovdiv. The host will be Zlatko Pavlov.

The pilgrimage will be attended by the Mayor of Plovdiv Municipality, Members of Parliament, the Regional Governor, the Chairman of the Municipal Council, Major General Yavor Mateev - Commander of the "Joint Special Operations Command", Honorary Consuls, Municipal Councillors, Deputy Mayors, District Mayors, representatives of the Municipality, the Public Mediator of Plovdiv Municipality, representatives of political and social organizations, citizens and media.
