PHOTO EXHIBITION ABOUT EBRAHAM LINCOLN ON U.S. PRESIDENT'S DAY

A photo exhibition dedicated to Ebraham Lincoln can be viewed at the Plovdiv Museum Center for Contemporary History on 14 Angel Bukhoreschliev Str. The exhibition will open at 18:00 on 20.02.2023 (Monday). The date was not chosen by chance - that is when the US celebrates President's Day, a holiday that Americans have celebrated since the 19th century.
The photo exhibition, dedicated to the sixteenth President of the United States, is provided to the Regional History Museum - Plovdiv by the American Embassy in Bulgaria. It shows the life of the Great Emancipator, as Lincoln was called because of his firm opposition to slavery. The photographs trace his life from his birthplace through his activities as an outstanding politician and military leader to a unifier of American society for a common cause.
"Of all the presidents in the history of the United States, Abraham Lincoln is probably the president whom people remember best and for whom they feel the deepest feelings. Lincoln brought to the White House his honesty and integrity. He will always be remembered as Honest Abe. Above all, however, his name is associated with the final prohibition of slavery. He became the first true symbol of the American dream, for he rose from a man of humble status to the pinnacle of society as the country's president."
